This weekend saw our sixth annual Christmas Tree Festival (can you believe it’s been 6 years?) and we are chuffed to say it went really well. A very special thank you goes out to local teens (pictured above) Myles, Theo, Lovemore, James, Jade and Mollie (who organised the group) - they blew everyone away with a mixture of showtunes, Elvis and Toto – watch this space, guys, they are all destined for great things!

More thanks go to Sunday’s entertainment - the fantastically upbeat MKlele and local, acoustic duo Natalie and Jeremy who brought some festive covers and a bit of beautifully sung folk to the Lakeside Café. The perfect accompaniment to mulled wine and mince pies on a winter’s afternoon, if you ask me.

Our stallholders were fantastic, the mulled wine was fantastic (I only had a sip, honest) and our Volunteers did a fantastic job of selling trees, raffle tickets, and Christmas Trees.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event. We’re aware that there are many similar events on in December, and time is a precious commodity, especially at this time of year, so thank you for spending yours with us. Make sure you come along to our Public Tree Planting on Sunday 4th February, to help us plant some of the trees that you’ve helped us fund by visiting this weekend – let’s hope the weather holds out, like it has this weekend!

Merry Christmas (and good luck with the rest of your Christmas Shopping…)
